After reviewing yesterday's approach and hearing a new one, we turned to the meforshim. We arrived at three approaches: (1) Metzudas David, Shadal, and Rabbeinu Yonah, (2) Meiri's "derech nigleh" approach to Mishlei 20:27-28, and (3) Meiri's "derech nistar" approach to Mishlei 20:28, which led us to review the Rambam's "middle path" approach, along with the parable of the farmer and the parable of Nachum Ish Gamzu.
