We then attempted to support that approach with two meforshim (Radak and Rabbeinu Yonah), only to realize that they were saying something different. We then found a support (Ri Nachmias) for another reading of the pasuk we tried yesterday which ended up leading to a nice idea. We ended with two other readings of the pasuk: one which took it in a completely different direction, (Ralbag) and another which was a hybrid of previous ideas (Malbim).
