Mishlei 22:1 - A Good Name is Preferable to Wealth (Part 2)

Mishlei

This morning (4/29/22), in our Morning Mishlei shiur, we revisited the pasuk we learned yesterday. In contrast to yesterday, not only did we come up with several ideas on our own, but we also learned some ideas from the meforshim! Note: towards the end of this shiur, I was in the middle of explaining an idea, when some aniyim came in. I nodded to one of the dorm guys to take care of the tzedakah distribution, and he indicated that he didn't want to interrupt the flow of the idea. I said some words (which you'll hear) and got up to give tzedakah myself. The dorm guy in question immediately regretted his decision, and went to give them tzedakah as well. I paused the recording, and when we resumed, I went over an idea from Mishlei about how interrupting our activities to give tzedakah is a virtue. Afterwards, I asked if we can keep this part of the recording intact, and the dorm guy agreed (because he recognized the value of the "Mishlei moment"), on the condition that I include an explanation of what happened, and made sure to point out that he usually DOES immediately respond to the needs of the aniyim, but was just so caught up in our learning that he wasn't thinking.
